As a fan of the franchise I would say this is my second favorite Alien story behind the second film. The novilization filled in a lot of holes and created a more complete story. I have always like the story of Alien 3 and feel that the "original cut" of the film didn't do it justice.

I first listened to this audiobook on a two cassette tape set that I had for years. Alan Dean Foster (born November 18, 1946) is an American writer of fantasy and science fiction who wrote the novelizations of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien: Covenant, as well as the novel Alien: Covenant - Origins.Foster is a prolific creator of and contributor to book series as well as the author of more than 20 single novels. There wasn't a particularly "moving" part of a survival-horror/sci-fi tale. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you? Some of his different character's voices are poorly done, but was able to forgive it because of the overall performance. It was nice to have an Alien alum perform the book in the first place, but I felt he did a good job. This is one of my favorite audio books because of Mr. He is also a best-selling science-fiction and fantasy author in his own right, including the popular Pip and Flinx novels and the Founding of the Commonwealth series. He was awarded the IAMTW Grand Master Scribe Award in 2008.

What about Lance Henriksen’s performance did you like? Alan Dean Foster is the acclaimed author of movie tie-ins for Star Wars, Alien and Transformers. He did an excellent job of embracing the tropes of a horror movie and folding them into a science fiction book, and vice versa. The survivors are then forced to work together and use their surroundings to take on the Alien. Alien is one of Foster's most successful novelizations (which is really saying something when you read the list of his titles) not only financially, but also artistically. By placing the protagonoist (Ripley) on a new world, surrounded by prisioners (all male), and with no weapons it created an interesting delima in dealing with the Alien akin to the first film. I enjoyed the setting and the conflict established. Underappreciated, well-written, excellent If you could sum up Alien 3 in three words, what would they be? The audiobook was much better than the film.
